The Brands Indy Circuit always sets
the scene for some great Formula Jedi racing, and this season’s
visit to the Kent venue was no exception!
2009 Formula Jedi
Champion, Richard Mitcham, dominated both races on his return
to the championship, breaking the lap record in the process,
setting a time of 45.000 seconds. However behind the winner
the racing was as close as it gets. Scottish ace Andrew Dunn
bagged 2nd in Race 1 with Richard Gittings only 2 tenths
of a second behind! Barry Armstrong had a strong run to 4th,
just under half a second up on Stu Abbott.
Behind the blistering
pace of Mitcham, Race 2 provided Scott Stevens with the runner
up spot and regular front runner, Jack Smith, with 3rd after
a Race 1 accident. After leading the opening laps, a great
drive from Dan Clowes gave him a 4th place finish ahead of
Richard Gittings.
Rob Sayell built on his Club Class points
lead with wins in both races, ahead of Mark Cunnington and
Dan Levy in Race 1, and Levy and Andrew Simpson in Race 2.
